Farouk Miya scores brace for Konyaspor

Uganda Cranes international Farouk Miya scored a double as his side Konyaspor defeated Instabul Basaksehir 4-3 on Monday night.

Struggling Konyaspor are in a race to avoid relegation from the Turkish Premier League and Miya's first half brace helped in stunning table leaders Basaksehir.

Miya made an explosive run into the box to put in a cross from Alper Uludag and level matters for Konyaspor in the 20th minute.

The former Vipers forward then stretched the team's lead to 3-1 at the stroke of half  time.

Konyaspor went into the break with a 2-goal cushion.

Edin Visca had opened the scoring for the table leaders before Demba Ba and Elia Eljero struck to set up a nervy end to the game.

Nejc Skubic grabbed a late winner for Konyaspor to brighten their chances of staying in the top flight.

Miya was rubbing shoulders with some of the big names that featured in the English Premier League before.

Demba Ba, Gael Clichy, Martin Skrtel and Robinho were all on the wrong end of the result in the game.

The win took Konyaspor to 33 points from 32 games and the race to stay in the division continues when the side play Trabzonspor on July 18, 2020.

Having converted from the spot to win it late against Rizespor, the brace put him on eight league goals from 24 games.
