Express out to end bad run against KCCA

November’s script for Express was decent and to a great extent, it made the Red Eagles forget any problems existed.

It had the club get married to leading online betting company Betway in a Shs400m only that the day that followed, the club shared spoils in a controversial 1-1 draw with Uganda Premier League holders Vipers.

There would be another 1-1 stalemate away at Bright Stars before a three-week break. On return to action, December has been horrible.

The club lost an emotional encounter to Onduparaka, losing 2-0 at home on December 1 and Kefa Kisala’s charges continue to crawl.

Express lost its second match in a row, surrendering to hosts Kirinya-Jinja SS 1-0 courtesy of Joel Madondo’s effort on Saturday, leaving the visitors in tenth place with 13 points after 10 games.

The six-time champions can’t sink any further on the 16-team log. Express is now out to end a bad run when they host leaders KCCA at the Betway Muteesa II Wankulukuku Stadium in a highly-billed fixture in Match Day 11 action on Tuesday.

The tie comes at a time Express has struggled in front of goal with Ibrahim Kayiwa, Eric Kambale and Tony Odur turning out shy.

The trio will however be needed to shed off skin when they face KCCA shot-stopper Charles Lukwago as the club last won a league match at Wankulukuku against Tooro United on October 31.

Meanwhile, KCCA, top with 24 points, would love to keep their flame burning and are coming off four successive league wins at SC Villa and Maroons as well as 6-1 and 3-1 home victories over promoted sides Nyamityobora and Ndejje University.
