The Toffees have won just one of their last seven league matches and were held to a 1-1 draw away to Burnley last time out. While Dominic Calvert-Lewin has continued to score goals, Everton are far from the team that started the season with four straight wins to top the league standings.

In their way of a return to form is a Chelsea side who are unbeaten in nine Premier League outings. The Blues defeated Leeds United 3-1 last weekend to remain within two points of the league leaders and manager Frank Lamaprd believes Chelsea fans are right to consider the club title contenders: "There's certainly nothing wrong with the fans thinking that.

"It's great to have them back [in the stadium], their input was huge, the noise huge. You can see how excited they are at the end that we are top of the league.

"My job and our job is to know that it's a long season and the next question is how consistent can we be with this form, how much we can improve, because I believe there is a lot more we can do and there will be a lot of challenges ahead," Lampard concluded.

The corresponding fixture last season ended in a 3-1 win for the hosts. Calvert-Lewin bagged a brace following Richarlison's opener to lead Everton to victory but Chelsea did win the most recent meeting between the two clubs 4-0 at Stamford Bridge earlier this year.
