Round 32

Borussia Dortmund v Mainz 05

Signal Iduna Park
Dortmund, Germany

Borussia Dortmund will face off with Mainz 05 in a German Bundesliga match at the Signal Iduna Park on June 17.

The Black and Yellows recorded a narrow 1-0 win over Fortuna Dusseldorf away in their previous match which was played on June 13.

It was Dortmund's third consecutive victory in the league having recorded wins over Paderborn and Hertha Berlin before facing Dusseldorf.

They defeated Hertha in their last home match in the Bundesliga after Bayern Munich ended their 14-match unbeaten run at home.

Erling Braut Haaland, the Dortmund striker, says they should continue winning their matches as they prepare for Mainz.

"This is an important three points," Haaland said.

"It's good that we've bounced back like this after the match against Bayern and that we're now winning one game after another.

"We'll try to keep winning each match – and then we'll see where that gets us."

Meanwhile, Mainz are coming off a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Augsburg home in their previous match which was played on June 14.

It was Carnival Club's third defeat in their last five matches in the league while the other two games ended in a draw and a win.

They are also winless in their last three away matches in the Bundesliga having recorded three successive defeats.

The last time Dortmund faced Mainz in a league match was on 14 December 2019. The Black and Yellows secured a 4-0 victory over the Carnival Club in a match which was played at the Opel Arena.
