Uganda Cranes coach Desabre Sebastien insists his charges must keep the feet on the ground if they are to achieve their objective at the
Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon).
Cranes were off to a shock flyer when they sunk DR Congo 2-0 in the Group A opener at the Cairo International Stadium on Saturday.
The fans in Cairo and those back home were on cloud for the country’s only fourth win at Afcon but Desabre insists it is only early days.
“We are very happy to start the competition with a win and two goals against a good team,” Desabre said.
Goals from Patrick Kaddu and Emmanuel Okwi gave Uganda its first Afcon win in 41 years since beating Nigeria 2-1 at the 1978 semifinals.
“We showed that we have cohesion and are united. We beat Ivory Coast (last weekend) and now DR Congo, these are two big teams.”
But there is more work to do against Zimbabwe on Wednesday and hosts Egypt on Sunday.

“Each game is very difficult for us. These are just three points, nothing more. Our objective is to get out of the group,” the 42-year-old offered.
The Cranes will mathematically require a point to be through to the last 16.
