For the second year running, Betway Kobs came out of the Betway Awards night as the best franchise of all the sponsored assets.
Joseph Aredo was named the Betway Sports personality of the year having helped his side Kobs to a domestic double of the Uganda Cup and the Uganda national Sevens titles.
Aredo was consistent for Kobs throughout the season and featured for both the 15s and 7s teams enroute to their triumphs.
He beat Betway Power's Syrus Kiviiri and Express' Dissan Galiwango to the most coveted award of the night.
The three athletes were the top performers from their respective categories. Kiviiri was the best from Power and beat off competition from teammates Paul Odongo and last year's winner Geoffrey Soro.
Galiwango took the footballer's award ahead of Frank Kalanda and Frank Ssenyondo. The three players have been the sauce of goals for Express so far this season.
In her remarks before handing over the top award, Betway Country manager Adellah Agaba Nyaruhuma applauded the different teams for the continuous visibility they give to the brand.
She also congratulated the Betway staff for the good work done throughout the year and in a special way recognised Betway staff Immaculate Namanda.
Namanda received the country manager special award. Comedian Herbert Mendo Sseguja, Voltage Music and King Saha put up performances to put the icing on the cake.
