Crusaders will face off with Highlanders in the 2017 Super Rugby quarter-final match at the AMI Stadium in Christchurch on Saturday.
The Crusaders were beaten 32-22 away by Hurricanes in their previous Super Rugby match which was played in New Zealand last weekend. This was New Zealand side's first defeat in this year's competition. They defeated Highlanders in their last match at home in the Super Rugby last month. The Crusaders advanced to this year's knockout stages after finishing second on the Super Rugby overall standings - two points behind the leaders Emirates Lions.
Meanwhile, Highlanders defeated Reds 40-17 at home in their previous Super Rugby match which was played in New Zealand last weekend. The Landers returned to winning ways in this competition as they had lost to Crusaders away, before facing Reds at home. Highlanders progressed into the quarter-finals after finishing seventh on the overall standings of the 2017 Super Rugby standings.
Crusaders and Highlanders have met five times in this tournament in the last two years. The former have won three games compared to Highlanders' two wins.
