Bahrain Grand Prix
2019 Formula 1 season, Round 2
Bahrain International Circuit
31 March 2019, 17h10 CAT
Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc will hope for a better showing when the Formula 1 season heads to the Middle East for the Bahrain Grand Prix on Sunday, 31 March 2019.
The Monégasque driver had a forgettable debut for the Scuderia at the Australian Grand Prix earlier this month, coming home in fifth place and almost a minute behind the race winner Valtteri Bottas.
While the pace of the Ferrari was not enough to challenge the Mercedes cars, fans of the Italian team will still want to see more of a fight put up by Leclerc and teammate Sebastian Vettel.
Ferrari have traditionally been strong at the Bahrain International Circuit and this weekend’s race may prove to be the perfect platform for the 21-year-old to truly underline his status as a Formula 1 champion in waiting.
However, the sheer pace of the Mercedes means Bottas and Lewis Hamilton will head into the round as the favourites for victory, while Red Bull and Max Verstappen will hope to defend their status as the fastest behind the pair of ‘Silver Arrows’ cars.
