Chicago Bulls v Cleveland Cavaliers

NBA Regular Season

Sunday 18 April 2021
United Center, Chicago, Illinois
Tip-off at 02:00 CAT

The Chicago Bulls and the Cleveland Cavaliers will renew their rivalry in the NBA when they meet in a Regular Season game at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois on the morning of Sunday 18 April 2021. Tip-off at 02:00.

The Bulls have shown signs of great promise this season, though they remain outsiders to secure a berth in the Playoffs after failing to find a level of consistency which matches their talent potential. A fine example of this saw Zach LaVine register his first career 50-point game this past weekend, though it arrived in a 120-108 loss to the Atlanta Hawks.

"I just got in a rhythm," LaVine said. "My 3s started falling and then I can get to the mid-range and get to the hoop. I was trying to get to the free-throw line late in the second quarter because I was so damn tired. Trying to get a little bit of a break."

The Cavaliers, meanwhile, have struggled even more than the Bulls and find themselves slipping down the Eastern Conference standings. Performances such as this past weekend, when they were routed 135-115 by the Toronto Raptors – including being a whopping 87-54 down at half time.

"It was embarrassing what happened in the first half," Cleveland’s Collin Sexton said. "We came out being soft and it's our job as starters to be better, to set the tone for the game right away."

Both the Cavs and the Bulls will see this clash as the chance to try and spark their seasons into life late in the Regular Season, with a late run into the Playoffs spots not yet an impossibility.

In head-to-head stats, the Bulls and Cavaliers have met in 220 Regular Season games since 1970-71, with Chicago claiming 128 wins compared to 92 for Cleveland. The teams last met in the Regular Season in March 2021, with the Cavs winning 103-94 at home thanks to 22 points from Darius Garland.
