Betway Power unveil new players ahead of new season

Betway Power have unveiled their new signings ahead of the 2017 national basketball league season.
With the season officially tipping off Friday night at Lugogo Indoor stadium, the five time champions have made their intentions clear and will be gearing for glory this year.
Sunday Okot, Sulaimani Bbale and Francis Kasinde were all unveiled to the press Thursday morning at Betway office, Lugogo House while three other signings could not attend for various reasons. Diego Angemi, Tyrone Martin and Julius Wapera were unveiled in absentia.

“As a club we look forward to a great season. We thank our sponsors Betway, fans and well-wishers who have supported the team emotionally and financially,” Power president Patrick Obalim told the press.
Onto the coaching radar, the team has added former KIU Titans assistant coach Chris Kyebambe to help Arnold Lando in steering the team to greater heights.
In the last three seasons, Power have made two finals but remain winless having lost 4-0 and 4-1 to City Oilers in 2014 and 2016.

Power last won the championship in 2011 and will be looking to roll back the years and celebrate silverware.
The new players join a cast of the senior players led by team captain Joseph Ikong, Isaac Afidra, Michael Makiadi and Paul Odong.
Lando and his charges start the season as top challengers for this year’s championship and will also have a shot at the Zone V clubs championship to be held in Kampala later in the year.
