Betway Power start NBL season with KIU clash

Betway Power and KIU Titans are two of the teams that have shown better preparations ahead of the National Basketball League resumption.

Betway Power announced the extension of a bumper shs200m partnership for the 2021 season in addition to adding several faces to their roster.

KIU Titans on the other hand announced changes to their administrative structure by unveiling a three-man board before announcing several new arrivals of their own.

The two teams will face off on the opening day of the season on April 02 following the announcement of season fixtures by domestic football governing body Fuba.

Betway Power have now gone 10 years without a league title but have assembled a competitive side in what will be a shortened NBL season.

Guards Baderha Basheka Jean Gauthier and Stephen Wundi are among the big additions to the team that has veteran forward Isaac Afidra as captain.

New league entrants Namuwongo Blazers will face off with reigning seven-time champions City Oilers.

The playoff quarterfinals and semi-finals will meanwhile be decided by the best of three series and the final by the best of five games.

The season is expected to be played without fans due to covid-19 restrictions with Fuba indicating games will be streamed live.

Betway Power roster:  Arion Osama, Brian Sivachi - La Joie Mubalanyi, Nasser Guddi, Isaac Afidra Patrick Seduge Elvis Sentongo, Salim Kisilu, Tony Wafula Adnan Kabuye, Joel Maurice Batingira, Stephen Wundi
