Betway Power get new coach

Betway Power have reacted to their poor start to the season by replacing head coach Arnold Lando with Bernice Ankunda.

The move comes after the team losing five games to start the season.

Power team manager Philip Kyomuhendo confirmed the development on Wednesday.

"The coach Arnold Lando and his assistant are on suspension. Bernice Ankunda and Carroll Bisereko will be taking over as the interim coach and assistant for the rest of the season," Kyomuhendo noted.

Ankunda comes in to save the season for the five-time champions.

"Make the team survive relegation by winning atleast 3 of the 4 league games remaining," Kyomuhendo revealed the task handed to the coach.

Lando's last game saw the team lose 70-82 to UPDF Tomahawks.

Before that, the team had lost to KIU Titans, Ndejje Angels, JKL Dolphins, and City Oilers.

Ankunda knows his way around the team having won three championships with them in 2008, 2010 and 2011.

His first task will be to get a win over Namuwongo Blazers at Kampala International University on Sunday.
