Betway Kobs returned to action on Saturday with a 33-0 win over Mutoni Warriors despite the latter's first half spirited performance.
Justin Kimono crossed the white line on two occasions while Adrian Kasito, Robert Byabashaijja and James Ijongat each contributed one.
Kimono later revealed that the side's first half display was a result of rust having been out of action the previous weekend. The Betway sponsored side was out of action after Jinja Hippos failed to turn up for their fixture at Legends.
The two sides are now set to face off Wednesday evening and Kobs will be keen on registering a bonus point win to stay in close touch with table leaders Buzz Pirates.
The new Uganda Rugby Union rules in regards to walkovers deny the 'beneficiary' a bonus point. With Buzz Pirates continuing with their good run following their 50-10 pummelling of Rams, Kobs now find themselves 6 points off the pace albeit with a game in hand.
A bonus point win will see Kobs close the gap to a single point and leapfrog Rhinos to second place. Pirates' Timothy Odongo and Desire Ayera bagged braces while Brian Ochan and Mohammed Haruna scored one apiece.
Meanwhile Saul Kivumbi scored twice as Rhinos got the better of Plascon Mongers in Entebbe. Ric Mula and Byron Oketayot also crossed the white line.
Toyota Buffaloes had earlier defeated Heathens 23-18 to complete the double over Muhammad Athiyo's charges.
