With six games left of the season, Kobs are on 53 points, only five behind table leaders Hima Cement Heathens.
Against the Hippos, Davis Kiwalabye’s troops will be favourites but must put up a good show to come back from Jinja with maximum points.
The tight race may be decided by the number of bonus points collected and Kobs have to get one to keep Heathens in sight.
In the first leg held at Legends, Kobs ran in nine tries to batter the Hippos 55-12 and stay on course.
The Hippos are coming off a morale boosting 45-08 win over troubled Rimula Rhinos.
Kobs, on the other hand, ran over Warriors 39-03 to take home the inaugural Patrick Othieno Mileke Aredo memorial shield.
The two sides have different objectives with the Legends outfit fighting for the league title while the Hippos look to maintain their mid-table status.
Kobs will have more to lose considering Heathens are in top form and lead the charge for the championship.
The defending champions will be expected to run over Rimula Rhinos at Legends as they look to cement their place at the top of the log.
Having defeated their closest challengers Kobs and Pirates in the first round, Heathens are in pole position and expected to dominate the lesser teams, Rhinos especially.
Black Pirates will host Toyota Buffaloes at Kings Park as they look to keep pressure on the top two sides.
The Sea Robbers are ten points behind second placed Kobs and fifteen off the pace in the title race.
The first meeting was played at Kyadondo Rugby Grounds and Makerere Impis snatched the victory 17-10 for their first win of the season.
