Betway Kobs ready for Coronation Sevens

After collecting 19 points from the Henry Rujumba Sevens last weekend, Betway Kobs will turn their focus to the Coronation Sevens hosted by Shell Rimula Rhinos this weekend at Legends.

Five points separate Edmund Tumusiime's charges and table leaders Black Pirates going into the last two circuits of the national championship.

Toyota Buffaloes defeated the defending champions to close in and declare a three-horse race for the title.
"We started the final badly and we were punished. It's now an opportunity for us to put things right," Kobs' James Ijongat, who scored the team's only try in the final, revealed.

Having won their first circuit in Mbarara two weeks ago, the first circuit at Legends was one Kobs approached with a must-win mind-set.

"We were supposed to give ourselves a good chance by winning at home but we didn't. We still have two more chances to do that," Ijongat added.

Kobs played the last two legs without the services of Justin Kimono and Adrian Kasiito as the two represented Uganda at the World Sevens Championship in San Francisco.

Pirates, now on 95 points, remain in the driving seat with Kobs closely monitoring proceedings on 90 points.
Buffaloes' win last weekend means that four different teams have emerged victorious at various grounds thus far.

Pirates collected the first two cups, at Kyadondo and in Jinja before the Sevens Academy halted their run at Kyadondo in the third circuit.

Kobs and Buffaloes have since claimed Mbarara and Rujumba Sevens respectively. The Betway-sponsored side will host the last circuit of the season.
