Betway Kobs pummel Buffaloes

Betway Kobs needed a spirited second half display to brush aside Toyota Buffaloes and collect maximum points in a 49-20 over the weekend.

Fred Mudoola’s charges struggled early in the game as poor execution ensured Buffaloes stayed in the game. The two sides went for the half time break with Kobs leading Buffaloes 8-3.

Conrad Mukwaya had been set up by Justin Kimono to score the only try of the first half.

Kobs made light work of Buffaloes in the second period with the substitutes changing the game for the hosts.

Adrian Kasito, Justin Kimono, Collins Kimbowa, Jude Jjuko, James Ijongat and Edgar Seruwagi were all on the score sheet for Kobs to win and leapfrog DusuPay Warriors to second place.

Defending champions Black Pirates played one of their best games for the season as they ran over Warriors 48-5 in the first game of the weekend.

Harunah Muhammad, Baron Kasozi, Ivan Magomu and Kelvin Balagadde were all on the score sheet for Bobby Musinguzi’s charges.

Warriors were only losing their first game of the season as they started a tricky run of fixtures.
After falling to Pirates, Warriors’ next opponents are Betway Kobs and Hima Heathens to conclude the first round.
