Betway Kobs face Heathens

Table leaders Betway Kobs will be looking to maintain their status at the top when they host unbeaten Hima Cement Heathens in the Nile Special Premiership Saturday evening.

The clash comes at a time when the two sides are tied on 55 points and the winner will be closing in on the title.

Following Heathens' 18-15 win over Black Pirates last weekend, the title race is now between the two giants of the game.

Kobs boast a better points difference while Heathens are yet to test defeat this campaign.

The first round meeting between the two sides was a game of two halves with Fred Mudoola's charges commanding in the first half before dismally collapsing in the second.

Ronald Musajjagulanyago and Robert Aziku went over for Kobs while Kirabo converted one to see the Uganda Cup winners leading 12-00 at half time.

Heathens turned on the heat in the second half and tries from Alex Mubiru and Michael Wokorach helped them recover and win the game 15-12.

That was the last time Kobs lost a game and they have gone on to put up an impressive run of form.

It is a must-win encounter for Kobs who still have to face holders Black Pirates late in the second round.

The match will be Heathens' last significant hurdle in the title race.

Players like Adrian Kasito, Justin Kimono, James Ijongat, Conrad Mukwaya and Ian Munyani have been training with the national sevens side but will be expected to join the team for the game.
