Betway Kobs demolish Warriors to retain Mileke shield

BetwayKobs were yet again in demolition spirits and made light work of Warriors to win their second Mileke shield.

The men in blue ran in nine tries to win 55-09 and stay top of the log in the race to this year's championship.

The clash played in memory of Patrick Mileke, father to Kobs' Joseph Aredo and Warriors' Erasmus and Gabriel Aredo, was the side's second of the season.

Kobs opened the scoring through Pius Ogena whose try was converted by Aredo for a 7-0 lead early in the game.

Warriors responded with two penalties converted by Richard Kinyai and at 7-6, it looked like a contest.

Davis Kyewalabye's charges then turned it on and crossed the line through Joseph Aredo, Pius Ogena, Justin Kimono, and James Odongo.

Kobs took a 31-06 lead into the halftime break.

Brian Ochan, Brian Asaba, Collins Kimbowa, and Kimono completed the try party for the hosts.

Kinyai got another penalty in the second half for Warriors' only points of the frame.

Having beaten Rhinos 51-00 in the opening game, Kobs have registered half-centuries in their first two games and are yet to concede a try.

Attention will now turn to Saturday when Buffaloes cross to Legends for what is expected to be a tougher contest than the first two Kobs have had.

Results
Kobs 55-09 Warriors
Hippos 38-08 Impis
Pirates 36-08 Mongers
