Betway Kobs Demolish Rams As Mongers Pip Buffaloes

Betway Kobs, Hima Cement Heathens, Buzz Pirates and Shell Rimula Rhinos all charged to routine wins over the weekend to maintain uncertainty at the top of the log in the Uganda Rugby premiership. With the second round starting just a week after the end of the first, there was no time given to teams to rest and readjust in prep for the second stanza.

Betway Kobs, who led the table for the bigger part of the first round, found themselves seven points off the pace following Pirates' 31-03 win over Makerere Impis on Saturday. Ronnie Lutakome's charges reduced the deficit to two points with a commanding 50-5 win over Rams in the Saturday lunch time kick-off fixture at Legends.

Richard Lumu gave Rams an early lead with a try early in the game but the Blue army responded quickly. Man of the match Adrian Kasito scored a hat trick while Arnold Musoke scored a brace Edgar Seruwagi also crossed the white line. Rhinos, who are third on the log, needed to come from behind to defeat Warriors and ensure they have the top two sides within reach.
