Betway Kobs defeat Jinja Hippos to maintain title hopes

Betway Kobs registered yet another bonus point win as they ran over Jinja Hippos 38-03 at Dam Waters grounds in Jinja on Saturday.

With the title race still on between the Legends outfit and defending champions Hima Cement Heathens, every game is played as a final.

Kobs have relied on their squad depth to keep the pressure on Heathens all season.

The team in Jinja had Josiah Ssempeke starting at fly half while Ian Munyani rejoined the team and got straight into the action.

Joseph Aredo (3) and James Ijongat (1) added the conversions to complete the easy win.

With the win, Kobs remained second on the log, just five points behind table leaders Heathens.

The Blue Army will now prepare to face Black Pirates this weekend in what is expected to be a season defining fixture at King's Park Bweyogerere.
