It is no secret that the medical industry in Uganda is in dire need of aid. The country as a whole suffers from a lack of medical practitioners, and little or no drugs available to serve the growing numbers of those in need of basic medical care.
On the 4
th of May, an article was published in the Daily Monitor depicting the devastating state of the Busolwe Referral hospital in the Butaleja district. It showed how many of the patients that get admitted to the hospital have to sleep on mats while receiving medical attention. It was after this revealing story that Betway Uganda chose to intervene in the situation and show their support.
Betway Uganda will be providing much needed assistance to the hospital by donating 20 mattresses to their wards and they are appealing to other companies to join them in providing aid to a hospital in dire need of help.
Betway will be visiting Busolwe hospital on May 22, 2018 to make their charitable donation, handing the supplies to the District Chief Administrative Officer Mr. Alex Felix Majeme and Former Hospital Commissioner Betty Nesibe as a sign of goodwill and community contribution. Betway Uganda would also like to say a special “thank you” to Mr. Yahudu Kitunzi from the Daily Monitor, the reporter that brought this situation to light.
