Betway Dresses The Bombers

Betway have strengthened their bond with the Uganda national boxing team, the Bombers, with yet more support as the team prepares to feature at this year’s Africa Boxing Championship.Betway availed the team with track suits to be worn at the championship. The Bombers were meant to travel for the competition late May but the rescheduling for the event to June 17-25 means that the side will remain in camp until the championship.
This means that the team will have to stay in camp for more three weeks, something the boxing federation didn’t envision earlier. Betway, for the love of sports development, gave the team tracksuits and t-shirts to use during the tournament. Betway will also continue to support the Bombers with feeding while in camp.

Ssali likely to miss
Meanwhile Wasswa Ssali is likely to miss the championship after submitting contradicting information to AIBA. Ssali, who claims to be 19 years old, has a passport that shows he was born December 12, 1999, making him 17 years old. This makes Ssali ineligible to compete at the event that only entertains elite athletes aged 18 years and above.
Ssali featured for Lukanga Boxing Club at the National Open, in the National League, and at the Bingwa wa Mabingwa tournament in Dar es Salaam last year. Ssali then eliminated Joshua Nyanzi at the national team trials held early in May to book a ticket for the African Championships. With the boxing federation now waiting for Aiba’s final word on the matter, Nyanzi is likely to replace Ssali. It is unlikely that Aiba will give Ssali the green light to go on and represent Uganda.
