Real Betis vs Sevilla
Real Betis and Sevilla will meet for a potentially thrilling Seville derby at Estadio Benito Villamarin on the afternoon of Saturday 2 January 2021. The match is one of 10 spread over 2-4 January as part of Matchday 17 in the
2020-21 LaLiga season.
Betis' last home outing brought them a much-needed 1-0 win over Cadiz on December 23, with Guido Rodriguez netting the game's only goal in the 71st minute.

"We have been improving our defects. Now we have taken seven out of twelve points at stake. This time we have had the virtue of being patient and finding spaces. It has been a step forward in terms of results and defensive work," said Betis manager Manuel Pellegrini.
Sevilla, meanwhile, have racked up six successive wins away from home after defeating Valencia 1-0 on the road on December 22, with Suso's late goal bringing them three points and further boosting their hopes of a European berth for next term.
"The circumstances are exceptional this season, it is not worth thinking about [the difficulties of a tough schedule across multiple competitions]," said Sevilla manager Julen Lopetegui. "We must focus on the attributes we have. We must continue to analyse our rivals and play to our strengths, which is to have the ball in the attacking half."

In head-to-head stats, Betis and Sevilla have met in 48 matches across all competitions since 1995. The Verdiblancos have claimed 10 wins compared to 22 for Los Nervionenses, while 16 games have been drawn.
Last season Sevilla completed a league 'double', winning 2-1 at the Benito Villamarin in November 2019 and 2-0 at Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan in June 2020, with goals from Lucas Ocampos and Fernando Reges.
