Union Berlin will square off with Schalke 04 in a German
Bundesliga match at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei on June 7.
The Iron Ones are coming off a 4-1 defeat to Borussia Monchengladbach away in a match which was played on May 31.
The defeat extended Berlin's winless run to six matches in the league having recorded four draws and two defeats.
They are also winless in their last four home matches in the Bundesliga having registered two draws and two defeats.
Meanwhile, Schalke are coming off a narrow 1-0 defeat to Werder Bremen at home in a match which was played on May 30.
This was the Royal Blues' fourth consecutive defeat in the league and they are also winless in their last 11 matches in the competition.
Furthermore, they are winless in their last eight away matches in the Bundesliga having registered five defeats and three draws.
Alessandro Schöpf, the Schalke midfielder, says they need to improve their finishing in front of goal after their defeat to Bremen.
"We need to start taking these chances. We have to be more effective and stop making mistakes," Schöpf said.
"Our situation won’t improve until we start taking points. We need to continue trying to pick up points – as soon as possible.
The last time Berlin and Schalke clashed in a league encounter was on 29 November 2019. The Royal Blues recorded a 2-1 victory over the Iron Ones in a match which was played at the VELTINS Arena.
