Baale, Kizito in as Silverbacks final team is named

There are three new faces on the Silverbacks final team for the second window of the FIBA Afrobasket Qualifiers.

The team, named by the coaches on Monday, includes UCU Canons' guard Fayed Baale, Sharing Youths' Ceaser Kizito and US-based Arthur Kaluma.

Stanley Mugerwa, who didn't play any game in the first window, is dropped.

Innocent Ochera (JKL Dolphins), Ivan Muwhezi (City Oilers) and Peter Obleng (KIU Titans) are the other three not selected.

Emmanuel Mugenga is out with injury while Joseph Ikong is in shape for the second window having suffered a hip injury before the first window tipped off.

The second window of qualifiers will take place between February 18-21 in Monastir, Tunisia and Uganda is set to camp in the host city prior to the qualifiers.

The eight locally based players are expected to leave for Tunisia on February 4th and will team up with head coach George Gallanapolous and the foreign based players to prepare for action.

Uganda are second behind Egypt in group E and are a win away from confirming their presence at this year's Afrobasket set to be held in Kigali, Rwanda.
