Mutyaba focussing on CECAFA title

Muzamir Mutyaba has come to the Express party at the right time with his experience coming to the fore at the ongoing CECAFA Kagame Cup in Dar el Salam, Tanzania.

The calm and collected midfielder has found playing time hard to come by since joining the Red Eagles last season but his exploits at the tournament have reminded everyone of how much he still has in his legs.

Mutyaba has taken the CECAFA Kagame Cup by storm, scoring three goals in the three games but his eyes are on the trophy and not what has already happened in the tournament.

“Now we are in the final and we have to remain grounded, work hard to seal the deal,” Mutyaba said after the team progressed to the final.

“It is not yet over but I’m certain this will be achieved because everyone in camp wants to bring the cup to Kampala,” he added.

The former Uganda Premier League player of the year struggled with his fitness on arrival at Express but has since found his form to compete for playing time under Wasswa Bbosa.

“It has been a hell of a ride for me. When I joined the club, I wasn’t at my best because of my fitness levels,”
“That has now changed and I’m in good shape to play and help the team,”

Mutyaba and Express will face Nyasa Big Bullets in the final of the tournament slated for Saturday and lifting the trophy is what is on everyone’s mind.
