Police vs. Vipers
The dream of a league and cup double is still on for Express FC. The league winners are still on course in the delayed Uganda Cup semi-finals and have been drawn to face Bul FC at the penultimate stage of the competition.
The cup draw was held on Monday, August 9th at FUFA House in Mengo. Wasswa Bbosa’s charges will start with a trip to the Kyabazinga Stadium in Jinja before playing the return leg at Wankulukuku.
Vipers SC will face Police FC in the other semi-final. The two semi-finals are expected to be played between August 19th-31st.
The 2021 Uganda Cup has been played from the round of 16 with only FUFA Big League and Uganda Premier League Clubs taking part.
This year’s Uganda Cup has been played on a home and away basis since the round of 32. The competition has been on hold for two months with the federation ensuring a sporting conclusion.
Proline were the last team to win the Uganda Cup when they defeated Bright Stars FC on penalties at the Recreation Ground in Masaka 2019.
The 2020 edition of the competition was cancelled due to the lockdown on sports.
