Express coach Wasswa Bbosa has called for a similar show of efficiency ahead of his side’s semifinal Cecafa-Kagame cup game against Zanzibar side KMKM tomorrow.
This is after his side reached the last four of the regional competition being held in Tanzania with a 3-1 win over Yanga Africans on Saturday.
“We have managed to reach the semi-finals, that was our target and I am glad it came to pass," Bbosa said after the game.
"We now need to go and back and correct our mistakes, I am glad our fitness has gotten better so apart from Godfrey Lwesibawa’s suspension the rest are available."
"We await to know our opponents and we shall prepare better, today we used our chances well so hopefully, we keep it up,”
His side scored through winger Lwesibawa who latched onto Eric Kambala’s flicked header to outpace a defender a striking a left footed shot high into the net with his supposedly weaker left foot.
Playmaker Muzamir Mutyaba then marked his second goal in as many games after receiving a pass from Martin Kizza before turning creating space to shoot low across goal.
The third goal that came early in the second half saw another Kambale- Lwesibawa combination with the former powering a header home after a fine cross.
The win ensured the Red Eagles topped their group with seven points from three games to finish ahead of Nyasa Big Bullets on five points as well as Yanga and Atlabara to the elation of Bbosa.
The 1994 and 1995 finalists top Group B now play a KMKM side that were beaten 1-0 by another Ugandan side KCCA in the group stages.
The latter however missed out on qualification after a 1-0 loss to Messager Ngozi of Burundi
The other semifinal will have Malawi's Nyasa Big Bullets taking on Azam from Tanzania on Wednesday.
