The Gunners fell to an eighth defeat in 14 matches this season, going down 2-1 away to Everton last weekend. Arsenal are now winless in their last seven league matches and are amid a relegation scrap.

"You have two types of people: fighters and victims," said Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta following their latest loss. "You need fighters and you don't want any victims.

"Victims bring excuses, victims bring negativity and they start to blame anything that is happening around them or is not going their way.

"You need people who fight, people who contribute and people who are ready to give everything to the club at this moment."

Chelsea ended a two-game losing streak with a convincing 3-0 win over West Ham United on Monday to move up to fifth on the league standings and manager Frank Lampard expressed his relief at the result.

“This season is looking different to every other season,” Lamaprd told Sky Sports. “It is hard at a club with expectations that we have and the squad we have.

"If you are winning, or are unbeaten for a long time, then things move swimmingly well. It is much easier to manage, and you get a few challenges when you lose a couple of games.

He added: "It is hard; I have to be the one that drives it. There was a bit of tension going into the game, in a good way. The players were like that and you have to fight through it.

"It will help confidence. As a squad, I thought it would be tough for us as we have to grow a bit of character in games."

Chelsea claimed a 2-1 win in the corresponding fixture last season. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had opened the scoring for the visitors but goals from Jorginho and Tammy Abraham secured a comeback win for the Blues.
