Eintracht Frankfurt will square off with Chelsea in the UEFA Europa League semi-final first-leg match at the Commerzbank Arena on Thursday, May 2.

The Eagles secured their place in the semi-finals after defeating Portuguese giants SL Benfica on the away goals rule following a 4-4 draw on aggregate in a quarter-final tie.  

The German side returned to winning ways in the Europa League as they had lost to Benfica in the first-leg encounter. 

They are undefeated in their last 12 home games in the competition having registered three draws and nine victories.

Meanwhile, Chelsea progressed to the semi-finals after defeating Czech giants Slavia Prague 5-3 on aggregate in a quarter-final tie.

The Blues are undefeated in their last 15 matches in the Europa League having registered 14 wins and one draw.

They are also unbeaten in their last eight away games in the competition having recorded seven wins and one draw.

This will be the first-ever meeting between Frankfurt and Chelsea in a competitive match.
