Adraa Pleased By Onduparaka Players' Response Against Soana

Onduparaka defeated Soana 2-0 on Saturday to move joint top of the Uganda Premier League with 10 points after five games.

For coach Leo Adraa however the most pleasing aspect was the ability of the players to implement the team's game plan that in the end helped secure victory. "We were playing a team that is currently struggling so we set out to attack immediately and I am happy the move paid off," Adraa stated after the game played at the often packed Betway Greenlight Stadium.

Adraa and Livingstone Mbabazi named an attacking team with Vianney Ssekajugo and Rashid Okocha making their debuts on the left side. Okocha who usually plays further upfront started as a left back with Gasper Adriko on the opposite side. The Caterpillars then stormed into a first minute lead when captain Rashid Toha powered home his header at the far post from Kabon Livin's in-swinging corner.

Diminutive winger Ssekajugo then added the second nine minutes later after miscommunication between goalkeeper Meddie Kibirige and his defense let him connect with a Rajab Kakooza long ball. In between there were two missed chances for Alfred Leku and Livin as the visitors appeared rattled. "We should have had more goals but because we are mostly a young team the players became too comfortable," added Adraa having seen the Caterpillars drop their first half intensity later in the game.

The result capped a perfect day for the Caterpillars who had earlier unveiled a shs390m partnership with MTN who join the club's main sponsors Betway.
