Adraa Impressed By Onduparaka Display A.gainst KCCA

Watching Onduparaka FC against league defending champions KCCA FC on Tuesday would make you think they are two teams in the same bracket success in Ugandan football.

Actually, the home side had the better share of chances and could have easily got a winner for the maximum points.

Viane Sekajugo scored Onduparaka's goal in the second half to cancel out Muhammed Shaban's early goal and ensure spoils were shared at the Betway Green Light Stadium on Tuesday.

For coach Leo Adraa, the hosts exhibited what only the best teams in the country can every time they face KCCA.

"We played very well against a very good side and on another day we would have gone with all the three points," Adraa revealed after the game, he also added.

"They (KCCA) are a big team and are playing continental football but we asked them many questions and that's encouraging for us," he added.

Home boy Muhammed Shaban, who switched sides in a controversial move, put the visitors in an early lead after six minutes to momentarily silence the home crowd.

To show respect to his former team, Shaban did not celebrate the goal.

Ssekajugo's equalizer came with 17 minutes left on the clock and it was followed by immense pressure from the home side as they pushed for the winner in vain.

KCCA FC goalkeeper Charles Lukwago was called into action in the last minute of the game and he stopped Ceaser Okhuti’s last minute effort to deny the home side victory.

Lukwago had already saved from two Rashid Toha free kicks in the first half.

With the draw, the Caterpillars climbed to 4th place on 38 points after 25 games.

Onduparaka return to action on April 27 when they visit Abdullah Mubiru's Police FC at Namboole.
